Best Subtlety Rogue PvP Glyphs
The glyph system has changed quite a bit in Cataclysm as opposed to Wrath of the Lich King. All glyph scrolls that have been learned are now permanent glyphs that can be placed inside major and minor glyph slots, and there are 3 additional prime glyph slots included with the major and minor glyphs. Vanishing powder will be needed to swap out those glyphs. Those will be handy, since some glyphs may be swapped depending on a certain arena matchup.
Prime Glyphs
These three prime glyphs provided below are your primary glyphs within your prime glyph slots. Make sure to choose Glyph of Backstab when using the Backstab build, and Glyph of Eviscerate for the Hemorrhage build.
Glyph of Shadow Dance will increase the duration of your Shadow Dance ability by 2 seconds, allowing you to use 2 additional stealth based abilities when bursting on your target. This is your strongest Prime Glyph available to you.
Glyph of Hemorrhage provides a bleed effect on the target when pressing the ability Hemorrhage. This grants you the benefit of your Sanguinary Vein talent without having to press Garrote or Rupture. This helps keep up your damage modifier throughout an arena match.
Glyph of Backstab grants you energy when using the ability, Backstab. Since Backstab is your primary generator for combo points in the Backstab build, it’s important to use this for higher energy gain.
Glyph of Eviscerate increases your Critical Strike effects when using Eviscerate on your target. Since we added one point to Coup de Grace for the Hemorrhage build, this will grant us extra throughput on our burst.
Major Glyphs
These three major glyphs provided below are your primary glyphs within your major glyph slots. These glyphs never change.
Glyph of Blind allows you to safely use the ability, Blind, on targets that are affected with DoT effects without breaking the Crowd Control. Having this allows for more win conditions, swaps, and extra defensive usage with Blind.
Glyph of Garrote gives you an additional 1.5 seconds on your Garrote silence, making your openers or Shadow Dance windows more deadly. This could lead to kill windows that originally weren’t there.
Glyph of Preparation allows you to not only reset your major defensive cooldowns, but resets Kick, Dismantle, and Smoke Bomb. Resetting the cooldown of Smoke Bomb is essential for added win conditions. This is one of your strongest PvP glyphs.
A new expansion offers new possibilities to learn different information that has been added, changed, or removed in the game. Minor Glyphs
Even though minor glyphs do not greatly enhance the performance for Subtlety Rogue, there are 2 minor glyphs provided below that can be used in your minor glyph slots to minmax. These glyphs don’t change.
Glyph of Poisons makes applying poisons faster than before, and can be helpful if you ever need to apply your poisons during a game.
Glyph of Distract is the only useful minor glyph when in PvP arena. Having a farther ranged Distract allows you to prevent healers from drinking during games easier, which can be difficult to do when your opponents are using Snare and Crowd Control effects.
