Best Elemental Shaman PvP Glyphs
The glyph system has changed quite a bit in Mists of Pandaria as opposed to its Cataclysm counterpart. The most noticeable change being the removal of Prime Glyphs, meaning players will be limited to 3 Major and 3 Minor Glyph slots.
Tome of the Clear Mind will be needed to swap out any glyph from its respective glyph slot. You’ll definitely want to hold on to some of those, since some glyphs may be swapped depending on a certain arena matchup.
Major Glyphs
These three major glyphs provided below are your primary glyphs within your major glyph slots. Some glyphs offer variability depending on the composition you plan to play as.
Glyph of Lightning Shield is your only hard-locked glyph here, as it gives you 10% passive damage reduction as long as you are getting hit.
Glyph of Hex makes Hex a shorter cooldown.
Glyph of Flame Shock for some extra pad healing, further increasing your survivability.
Additionally we have some situationally niche glyphs you may find useful in certain circumstances. These aren’t typically chosen as opposed to the ones already listed above, but can be super valuable if given the opportunity.
Glyph of Healing Stream is typically chosen if you’re up against Mages, Balance Druids, Elemental Shamans, or Survival Hunters, as it provides 10% damage reduction to Fire, Frost, and Nature damage.
Glyph of Shamanistic Rage for some extra bulk when we are the kill target against comps with heavy magical Crowd Control. Make sure to not use this glyph against Affliction Warlocks.
Glyph of Thunder is best against melee cleaves, reducing the cooldown of Thunderstorm.
Minor Glyphs
Even though minor glyphs do not greatly enhance the performance for Elemental Shaman, there is one minor glyph provided below that can be used in your minor glyph slots to minmax.
Glyph of Totemic Encirclement helps protect your totems from getting instantly sniped down by enemy players.
