Best Affliction Warlock PvP Talents

This new talent system is dramatically different from our original Cataclysm talents. Now players are given way less options in terms of talent selection, and can even change their talents in the starting gate using Tome of the Clear Mind.

Here we have your default talents for Affliction Warlock. Let’s break down why these talents are so promising in MoP, and any alternatives you can select depending on the composition played or up against.

Hard-Locked Talents:

Dark Regeneration basically gives you a second “Healthstone” with the added benefit of increasing your healing taken.
Soul Link for that 20% damage reduction or HP increase, which is far more consistent than Dark Bargain.
Archimonde’s Darkness gives you two charges of your main offensive, Dark Soul. This talent gives you more momentum spikes and more opportunities to snapshot your DoTs.

Soft-Locked Talents & Alternatives:

Shadowfury will give you an instant cast, ranged AoE stun which can be used defensively to peel or to stop a cast, or offensively in order to set up Fears on enemy healers.
Alternative: Mortal Coil can be viable if you end up playing with a Rogue, Windwalker Monk, or even an Arms Warrior to chain Crowd Control off of stuns on kill targets.

Blood Horror is best against any melee or melee cleaves for that additional Crowd Control horror effect.
Alternative: Unbound Will if you’re against caster cleaves or a hybrid comp with a Mage like RMD. This gives you an additional Crowd Control break.

Grimoire of Supremacy makes your pet significantly stronger.
Alternative: Grimoire of Sacrifice against double caster compositions. This allows you to not only Interrupt without a pet active, but even allows you to double Spell Lock.
