Windwalker Monk Stat Priority

Versatility > Haste > Mastery > Critical Strike

Versatility will be our most important stat. You want to focus on getting as much of it as you can, up to at least 25%. This will happen automatically through PvP gearing, as most of the items you will end up using will have Versatility on them.

After that, you’ll be focusing on Haste. This reduces the global cooldown on all our spells, allowing us to ramp up and consume our Flurry Strikes quicker if you select the Shado-Pan Hero tree. As for our Conduit of the Celestials Hero tree, this helps you to consume Chi orbs faster to benefit the most out of Heart of the Jade Serpent for some solid cooldown reduction on your primary spells.

Not only does it synergize with our Hero builds, but Windwalker is notorious for bursting at precise times. This makes Haste essential, as it allows us to maximize damage globals within our short burst windows.

Followed by Haste is Mastery. Mastery increases your damage on any of your damaging abilities as long as you don’t use the same ability twice in a row. You’ll want to acquire a solid amount of this stat as this is beneficial to your overall throughput.

Critical Strike provides us with the least amount of benefits to our toolkit, therefore making it avoided at all costs.

BiS Windwalker Monk PvP Gear

When it comes to trinkets, the offensive option is the Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity. This provides us with a static boost to our Haste, greatly assisting us with our stat priority, and grants us a considerable boost to our primary stat in order to enhance our sustain damage.

You will then need a Forged Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

Humans then have the option to drop the Forged Gladiator’s Medallion for Forged Gladiator’s Badge of Ferocity. This is due to Human having access to Will to Survive for breaking out of crowd control. However, the Medallion can still be a solid pick for Human into teams where you want more frequent access to a CC removal, as you will be able to rotate through the Forged Gladiator’s Medallion and Will to Survive every 90 seconds.

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

For your new unique PvP-specific gem, we highly recommend the Enduring Bloodstone, as this will give you some additional damage reduction when affected by Crowd Control.

For all gem slots, we will use Quick Onyx. This will provide us with a hefty amount of Mastery to compensate for the lack of this stat, while weaving in some Haste to buff our overall damage.
