Restoration Shaman Stat Priority

Mastery > Versatility > Haste > Critical Strike

Mastery will be our most important stat. This stat boosts your healing throughput on targets that are lower health, giving you an easier time to recover your allies once a Crowd Control chain ends.

Outside of Mastery, You want to focus on getting as much Versatility as possible, up to at least 25%. This will happen automatically through our gearing process, as most of the items you will end up using will have Versatility on them.

Followed by these two stats, you’ll want to obtain some Haste, and with Shamans being global-capped, meaning that this spec is constantly using globals to keep ourselves ahead, you’ll want some Haste to reduce the global cooldown and make your rotation feel more fluid.

Aside from these secondary stats, Critical Strike is our worst stat and should be avoided at all costs.

For your first trinket, you’ll most likely use Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity to obtain a constant flow of procs that buff our primary stat, while also weaving in some passive Haste to make our rotation feel a bit more fluid.

You will then need a Forged Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 1 minute and 30 seconds

As an alternative pick, you may find use out of Forged Gladiator’s Emblem if you are the opposing team’s kill target. In order for this trinket to have high value, you’ll want to use it before you enter Crowd Control. This reduces the chance of your character dying in a setup.

Best Restoration Shaman Gems

Core Gems: Cognitive Bloodstone + Versatile Onyx

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

As Versatility and Mastery are your best secondary stats, you will want to both gem and enchant it wherever possible. Cognitive Bloodstone will be our newly introduced PvP gem that can only be attributed once on your character’s gem slots. This will react almost identical to the Precognition embellishment from Dragonflight.

For all gem slots, we will use Versatile Onyx. This will provide us a hefty amount of Mastery, while weaving in some Versatility for some minor buffs to survivability and healing throughput.
