Marksmanship Hunter Stat Priority

Versatility (25%) > Mastery > Haste > Critical Strike

Versatility will be our most important stat. You want to focus on getting as much of it as you can, up to at least 25%. This will happen automatically through PvP gearing, as most of the items you will end up using will have Versatility on them.

After that, you’ll be focusing on Mastery. Mastery continues to be an extremely strong staple for MM, giving you a flat damage increase plus some extra range on your abilities.

Followed by Mastery, you’ll want to focus on adding some Haste. This stat is also valuable to your toolkit as it helps you land your abilities faster and reduces the global cooldown.

Lastly, Critical Strike will be your last priority. Although this stat buffs Penetrating Shots for additional crit damage and Master Marksman, which causes your crits to apply a bleed, Critical Strike tends to be our weakest stat out of the bunch.

When it comes to trinkets, we will be equipping Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity. It has an extremely high proc chance, and since our sustain damage is even higher than before, it’s our best option.

You will then need a Forged Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

An alternative trinket from Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity is Forged Gladiator’s Emblem, as this will assist us with surviving massive burst windows.

If you choose to play Human as a Marksmanship Hunter, you have the option to drop Forged Gladiator’s Medallion for Forged Gladiator’s Badge of Ferocity, but is highly unlikely since you don’t have any other method of breaking out of CC. Fortunately enough, we can remove CC more often when our Medallion is used, as you will be able to rotate through the Forged Gladiator’s Medallion and Will to Survive every 90 seconds.

The Elemental Focusing Lens embellishment provides us with the most consistent throughput, and is only effective as long as you have at least 1 gem equipped.

This embellishment occasionally deals damage from a specific school of magic based on the gem you equip. Keep in mind that the damage from this embellishment can’t be buffed by cooldowns, talents, or any damage bonuses from school types.

Core Gems: Enduring Bloodstone + Versatile Onyx
Alternative Gem: Quick Onyx

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

Enduring Bloodstone will be our newly introduced PvP gem that can only be attributed once onto your character’s gem slots. This will give you some additional damage reduction when affected by Crowd Control.

For all gem slots, we will mostly use Versatile Onyx as it helps us greatly with our default stat priority. However, you can opt for Quick Onyx as a minor boost to your Haste to make our Aimed Shot casts slightly faster.
