What’s New for Holy Paladins in The War Within?

Holy Paladin in 11.1 have experienced some profound nerfs regarding their utility, especially after losing out on Blessed Hands. This change gets rid of an additional Blessing of Freedom and Blessing of Protection we could utilize to assist our team and negate pressure. Additionally, we receive some new PvP talents that aren’t as favorable as Blessed Hands, but now can obtain Blessing of Spellwarding to negate magic damage.

Even after these changes, Paladin still remains quite competitive. We continue to make use of talents such as Rising Sunlight, acting identical to our original Daybreak cooldown, and is tied to Divine Toll and Avenging Wrath. This gives Holy Paladins more variability on when we want to heal with Holy Shock, and increases the amount of healing we provide drastically, making our reliable burst healing and consistent throughput quite strong. Overall, Holy Paladin seems to be a strong healer in the competitive scene, as their abundance of instant cast healing makes their team way less susceptible to death, especially if they rotate their defensive trades as efficiently as they can.
