Alliance
Night Elf
If you plan to choose Alliance as your faction for Feral Druid in The War Within, Night Elf is your best option out of both factions by a large margin. What really makes this race shine is due to its iconic ability, Shadowmeld. With this ability putting you in Stealth, you can take advantage of Improved Prowl, giving you another way of applying an on-demand stun with Rake on your target, while also buffing its bleed damage, as long as you are in Cat Form. This effect is more exclusive to Druid if they choose to play with Rake, but has more versatile uses to put you ahead of the curve.
Immunities
Shadowmeld as a racial ability can immune any incoming projectiles, which includes abilities that require some travel time, Mortal Coil and Chaos Bolt, and can immune instant abilities, such as Blind and Kidney Shot.
Target Dropping
When Shadowmeld has been used, it will remove you as the target or focus target to prevent players from either attacking or stopping casts immediately.
Dropping Combat
Shadowmeld has the ability to remove combat off of your character, meaning that you can enter Prowl and stay in Stealth as long as you don’t have any periodic effects that could potentially break it.
Racial Passives
Nature Resistance acts as a passive 1% damage reduction from any spell in the Nature Category. Additionally, Touch of Elune provides either Haste or Critical Strike, and is determined by server time.
Horde
Tauren
If you plan to choose Horde as your faction for Feral Druid in The War Within PvP, Tauren is your secondary pick, although the benefits from Night Elf far outweigh any other race. Your most valuable racial is War Stomp, granting you extra Crowd Control on nearby targets.
Additional CC
War Stomp‘s ability grants an additional stun that can be paired with Druid Crowd Control, such as Cyclone, to either control targets during moments where peeling matters, or to set up a potential kill. War Stomp also goes through abilities such as Evasion from Rogues, giving you another way to peel without being reliant on Mighty Bash or Maim.
HP Increase
Tauren is provided with a passive racial, Endurance, which grants additional Stamina. Since Feral Druids are quite vulnerable and squishy, this can be beneficial for your survivability.
