Devastation Evoker Stat Priority

Versatility > Mastery > Haste > Critical Strike

Versatility will be our most important stat. You want to focus on getting as much of it as you can, up to at least 25%. This will happen automatically through PvP gearing, as most of the items you will end up using will have Versatility on them.

After that, you’ll be focusing on Mastery. This stat makes our throughput stronger, and increases our damage on targets that have more health than us.

Followed by Mastery, Haste is a solid addition to our character as it reduces our global cooldown, and increases the ticks of Fire Breath for more Burnout procs. Additionally, Haste increases our casting speed, including our empowered spells.

Lastly, Critical Strike does not synergize with our toolkit, making it our weakest stat.

There is no concise winner in terms of which weapon is better, and is based on what you prefer the most. We suggest picking up crafted weapons in order to min-max your secondary stats, but you can still utilize our conquest weapons we obtain for free to help with our gearing process.

Trinket 1: Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity

When it comes to trinkets, the offensive option is the Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity. Using this trinket provides us with a static buff to our Haste, while consistently proccing some primary stat to make our sustain damage more impactful.

You will then need a Forged Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

Best Devastation Evoker Embellishments

Item 1: Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension on any crafted weapon slot.
Item 2: Writhing Armor Banding on any crafted armor slot.

Core Gems: Cognitive Bloodstone + Quick Sapphire
Alternative Gems: Versatile Onyx and Versatile Emerald

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

For your new unique PvP-specific gem, we highly recommend the Cognitive Bloodstone, which acts almost identical to the Precognition Embellishment from Dragonflight.

For most of our gem slots, we suggest using Quick Sapphire as it provides us with a minor boost to our sustain and survivability, while granting us some Haste to make our globals feel more fluid. This offsets the lack of this stat. Alternatively, you can still equip Versatile Onyx or Versatile Emerald depending on your current loadout and how you choose to optimize your gear.
