Beast Mastery Hunter Stat Priority

Versatility (25%) > Haste = Mastery > Critical Strike

Versatility will be our most important stat. You want to focus on getting as much of it as you can, up to at least 25%. This will happen automatically through PvP gearing, as most of the items you will end up using will have Versatility on them.

Next up, we have both Haste and Mastery, which are both equally as important to maximize our damage.

Starting off with Haste, this secondary stat reduces the global cooldown on all of our abilities, and increases the amount of ticks we receive out of our periodic effects. This gives us a higher proc rate on talents in our Dark Ranger tree, especially from Black Arrow, to receive more Barbed Shots. More Barbed Shots mean more Kill Command procs from War Orders, which can increase the amount of Kill Shots we use from Hunter’s Prey.

Next up we have Mastery. This is essential to our throughput, as we heavily rely on pet damage to make our specialization flourish.

Lastly, Critical Strike will be your last priority and is pretty much avoided during your gearing process.

When it comes to trinkets, we will be equipping Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity. It has an extremely high proc chance, and since we want high consistent damage, it’s our best option.

You will then need a Forged Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

An alternative trinket from Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity is Forged Gladiator’s Emblem, as this will assist us with surviving massive burst windows.

If you choose to play Human as a Beast Mastery Hunter, you have the option to drop the Forged Gladiator’s Medallion for Forged Gladiator’s Badge of Ferocity. This is due to Human having access to Will to Survive for breaking out of crowd control. However, the Medallion can still be a solid pick for Human into teams where you want more frequent access to a CC removal, as you will be able to rotate through the Forged Gladiator’s Medallion and Will to Survive every 90 seconds.

Best Beast Mastery Hunter Embellishments

The Elemental Focusing Lens embellishment provides us with the most consistent throughput, and is only effective as long as you have at least 1 gem equipped.

This embellishment occasionally deals damage from a specific school of magic based on the gem you equip. Keep in mind that the damage from this embellishment can’t be buffed by cooldowns, talents, or any damage bonuses from school types.

Best Beast Mastery Hunter Gems

Core Gems: Enduring Bloodstone + Quick Onyx / Masterful Emerald

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

As Versatility and Mastery are your best secondary stats, you will want to both gem and enchant it wherever possible. Enduring Bloodstone will be our newly introduced PvP gem that can only be attributed once onto your character’s gem slots. This will give you some additional damage reduction when affected by Crowd Control.

For all gem slots, we will use Quick Onyx or Masterful Emerald, depending on which secondary stat you have less of. Both of these gems provide the best overall boost to your favored stats.
