Assassination Rogue Stat Priority

Mastery > Versatility > Haste = Critical Strike

Our main focus should be on Mastery, which continues to be a strong staple for Assassination as we want to achieve the most amount of damage coming out of our bleeds and poisons.

Beyond this stat, we want to obtain a solid amount of Versatility to apply onto our character. Versatility is a no brainer; we become more tanky and deal more damage the more we have of this stat.

Lastly, both Haste and Critical Strike are quite marginal in comparison to what Mastery provides, making this essentially avoided during our gearing process.

Main Hand: Algari Competitor’s Dagger with Versatility / Mastery
Off Hand: Algari Competitor’s Dagger with Versatility / Mastery

Trinkets

Trinket 1: Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity
Trinket 2: Forged Gladiator’s Medallion

When it comes to trinkets, the best option here is Forged Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity. Although we don’t necessarily want Haste in our stat priority, its proc has a considerably high uptime, giving us a hefty amount of primary stat to make our consistent damage a bit higher.

You will then need a Forged Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

Best Assassination Rogue Embellishments

Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension on one of our Algari Competitor’s Daggers with Versatility / Mastery
Writhing Armor Banding on any of our crafted armor pieces.

Alternative Embellishments:

Duskthread Lining x2 on any crafted slot that isn’t a weapon or jewelry.

Best Assassination Rogue Gems

Core Gems: Enduring Bloodstone + Masterful Sapphire
Alternative Gem: Versatile Onyx

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

As Versatility and Mastery are your best secondary stats, you will want to both gem and enchant it wherever possible. Enduring Bloodstone will be our newly introduced PvP gem that can only be attributed once onto your character’s gem slots. This will give you some additional damage reduction when affected by Crowd Control.

For all gem slots, we will use either the Masterful Sapphire or Versatile Onyx, depending on your preference as these both provide the best overall boost to your favored stats.
