Affliction Warlock Stat Priority

Versatility (25%) > Haste > Mastery > Critical Strike

Versatility will be our most important stat. You want to focus on getting as much of it as you can, up to at least 25%. This will happen automatically through PvP gearing, as most of the items you will end up using will have Versatility on them.

Beyond this stat, focus on obtaining as much Haste as you can possibly get your hands on. This makes your globals faster, reduces cast time on spells, which helps wonders with landing CC, and makes your dot effects tick faster, synergizing great with Nightfall to get your hands on more procs.

Followed by this, you still want to get a bit of Mastery, but isn’t too crazy as in Dragonflight since your dot damage isn’t too powerful. What we really want this for is to buff our Malefic Raptures, especially when you plan to throw it out during your Soul Rot burst windows.

And lastly, Critical Strike doesn’t synergize well with our toolkit, meaning we should avoid this stat at all costs.

Trinkets

Trinket 1: Prized Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity
Trinket 2: Prized Gladiator’s Medallion

When it comes to trinkets, we are pairing up with Prized Gladiator’s Insignia of Alacrity in almost every game. This adds some static Haste that will benefit us in our stat priority, while occasionally proccing for a considerable boost to our primary stat.

You will then need a Prized Gladiator’s Medallion to break out of CC every 2 minutes.

As an alternative, you can choose Prized Gladiator’s Emblem instead of Insignia for some temporary HP boost in cases where you are guaranteed to be the kill target. This can more promising into setup based matchups, such as RMP or Jungle Cleave, and you can use this trinket before pressing Dark Pact for a bigger absorb.

Best Affliction Warlock Embellishments

Item 1 & 2: Elemental Focusing Lens on any crafted slot.

Alternative Embellishments:

Item 1: Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension on any crafted weapon piece.
Item 2: Writhing Armor Banding on any crafted armor piece.

The Elemental Focusing Lens embellishment provides us with the most consistent throughput, and is only effective as long as you have at least 1 gem equipped.

This embellishment occasionally deals damage from a specific school of magic based on the gem you equip. Keep in mind that the damage from this embellishment can’t be buffed by cooldowns, talents, or any damage bonuses from school types.

Alternatively, if you would rather opt for a crafted weapon instead of a conquest one, we recommend using the Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension and Writhing Armor Banding embellishments instead. These provide us with a constant flow of secondary stats, and is quite valuable when we proc Versatility for some extra tankiness.

Best Affliction Warlock Gems

Core Gems: Cognitive Bloodstone + Quick Sapphire

In The War Within, you will use a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to add sockets to your Helmet, Neck, Bracers, Belt and Rings. Two sockets can be added to the Neck and Rings.

As Versatility and Haste are your best secondary stats, you will want to both gem and enchant it wherever possible. For your new unique PvP-specific gem, we highly recommend the Cognitive Bloodstone, which acts almost identical to the Precognition Embellishment from Dragonflight.

For all gem slots, we will use Quick Sapphire. This will provide us a hefty amount of Versatility, while weaving in a bit of Haste to best suit our stat priority.
