What’s New for Mistweaver Monks in The War Within?
Mistweaver Monk experienced some relative change in terms of how they can deliver massive burst healing for the new patch, both focusing on our AoE and Single Target healing. Not only is Sheilun’s Gift more impactful as a Single Target burst heal if Emperor’s Favor is selected, but our Crackling Jade Lightning now dealing 2500% more damage after using Thunder Focus Tea if Jade Empowerment is selected.
When pairing Jade Empowerment with Jadefire Teachings, a majority of the damage you deal with Crackling Jade Lightning will convert to healing. You can expect how impactful these talents can be to both your kill conditions and your burst healing.
Lastly, our baseline celestials regardless of the one you choose will be 2 minutes instead of 3. Depending on which talent you choose, Gift of the Celestials for more Celestial cooldown reduction or Jade Bond for more direct healing, this will affect the absorption amount of your Chi Cocoon. The longer the cooldown is of your celestial, the bigger your Chi Cocoon absorb becomes upon using either of your celestials.
Not to mention, we have two new hero talent trees that incorporate more flavor onto our core healing and utility spells. These are Master of Harmony and Conduit of the Celestials, to which Master of Harmony tends to be our preferred pickup. This provides a lot of healing modifiers and buffs after using Thunder Focus Tea, and even influences us to pick up talents like Chi Wave to supplement our passive healing from Aspect of Harmony.
Playstyle for Mistweaver Monks
The playstyle of Mistweaver Monk has definitely changed coming in the new expansion, as the meta tends to be too fast to make Fistweaving a viable option. However, this definitely could change in the future once the meta tends to slow down and damage isn’t as explosive as it currently is.
That being said, the classic playstyle of Mistweaver focuses solely on its direct single-target healing, but instead of always casting we have talents like Vivacious Vivification and even Tea of Serenity to make feel less inclined to cast unless we really need to.
