Table of Contents
The War Within expands our arsenal of talent options, which include our new talent hero talent trees, Keeper of the Grove and Wildstalker. Let’s go more into detail on what build is best suitable for you depending on the composition faced or played.
Hero Talents: Keeper of the Grove
As for our preferred loadout, the build featured above is our recommended build in most matchups. Our healing is now more global intensive as we rely on Germination, but results in even more dispel protection, especially against Evokers who constantly apply Fire Breath to disrupt our buff maintenance.
Down below, we explain in more detail about the core talents we receive in our new Hero talent build.
- Protective Growth gives you minor damage reduction whenever you have a Regrowth HoT effect. This adds a bit to your survivability as you are more than likely to use this spell during Clearcasting procs and Incarnation: Tree of Life.
- Blooming Infusion will be commonly procced, as this relies on 5 successful Regrowth casts in order to empower your next Wrath, Starfire, or Entangling Roots while making them instant cast. This also applies to Starsurge for an instant cast Entangling Roots or Regrowth, but is way less likely to occur.
- Harmony of the Grove works similar to Power of Nature, although this buffs all sources of healing by a decent amount. This also scales off how many treants are active.
Hero Talents: Wildstalker
Next up, we have our default loadout for the new Wildstalker hero talents. This build is recommended if you want to dish out damage and apply more Crowd Control while in Cat Form. Let’s look at the core talents chosen that make up this build.
- Thriving Growth gives us access to both Bloodseeker Vines and Symbiotic Blooms, providing more ways to deliver healing or damage onto targets.
- Lethal Preservation makes combo point generation even easier, granting you one combo point after successfully dispelling an effect with Soothe or Remove Corruption.
- Bursting Growth makes our burst from Ferocious Bite a bit higher if Bloodseeker Vines is on the target, causing our Bloodseeker Vines to explode. Even if you don’t use Ferocious Bite on the target, they will still explode for some minor AoE damage once they expire.
- Vigorous Creepers as a capstone node empowers the effectiveness of both Bloodseeker Vines and Symbiotic Blooms.

Druid Class Talents
In the Druid Class talent tree, most of your talent choices will be mandatory when advancing onto each tier. Here are some of the noteworthy talents you will be using in The War Within.
- Cyclone will continue to be our main source of Crowd Control.
- Renewal provides a solid on-demand heal, and is not affected by dampening.
- Heart of the Wild adds some extra defensive bulk to our toolkit, while also reducing the cast time of Cyclone.
There will then be a few points which can be moved around depending on the composition that you are facing.
If you want to expand your arsenal of damaging spells in our default Keeper of the Grove build, you can remove talent points from Feline Swiftness, Well-Honed Instincts, Heart of the Wild, or Improved Stampeding Roar for Starfire and Starsurge depending on what makes the most sense from the matchup at hand. This synergizes quite nicely with Blooming Infusion in our Hero talents for more instant casts on Regrowth or Entangling Roots.
In cases where you aren’t against a Shaman or Warlock in our Keeper of the Grove build, you can opt out of Improved Nature’s Cure for Typhoon, or even Heart of the Wild if you removed it for Starsurge.
For our Wildstalker build, you have the option of playing more talents that can enhance your gameplay depending on the matchup at hand.
Against Mages or Warlocks that are bound to Crowd Control your target and have to cast in order to dish damage, you can remove talent points from Ironfur, Improved Rejuvenation, and Innervate for Killer Instinct and Skull Bash. Skull Bash is super helpful when used on casters to interrupt damage dealing spells, and even Crowd Control to increase your DPS’s uptime. You could also use this on healers to keep the pressure rolling, but only in certain cases where you aren’t vulnerable to Crowd Control or to a swap.
Additionally, you can substitute out talent points from Well-Honed Instincts, Innervate, and Lore of the Grove for Improved Stampeding Roar, Heart of the Wild, or Typhoon depending on what you prefer the most. These can provide useful utility to your team while decreasing your team’s survivability. Typhoon is super valuable against casters to pseudo-interrupt casts, or for Z-axis maps like Blade’s Edge Arena to knock players off platforms.
Finally, you can remove any of our flexible points mentioned already for Improved Nature’s Cure. This is best picked against Shamans with Hex or Warlocks that use Amplify Curse to buff their curses.
Restoration Spec Talents
For our spec talents, most of these will be mandatory as you advance onto each tier. Some of the most noteworthy talents are:
- Tranquility gives us a method of escaping danger during crucial moments, as long as its paired with our hardlocked PvP talent, Preserve Nature. This will make sure all incoming damage and Crowd Control is negated if directed at you.
- Verdant Infusion extends the duration of all hots on a target, while making Swiftmend not consume a hot in the process. This contributes towards a more streamlined rotation.
- Grove Guardians and Incarnation: Tree of Life are the basic building blocks of how this build works. Grove Guardians benefit massively by our new Keeper of the Grove hero talent tree, and with Grove Guardians now at a reduced cooldown, you will have Incarnation up most commonly around the 2 minute mark.
- Reforestation procs you into Incarnation: Tree of Life for a shorter duration after every 3 Swiftmend casts.
There’s also some flexible talents available to choose from, which involve swapping from / to Waking Dream based on preference or what you’re currently up against.
- Tranquil Mind if you find yourself struggling with mana conservation, as these provide you more Clearcasting procs throughout the course of a game.
- Passing Seasons can be a potential pick if you want more Nature’s Swiftness uptime, which is quite promising into setup compositions.
As for both Hero builds, you may want to swap out Dreamstate for Inner Peace against Monks to guarantee your safety during your Tranquility channel. Also, you can swap out the same talent for Verdancy, giving you additional healing from Efflorescence on multiple targets once your Lifebloom blooms.
For our Keeper of the Grove build specifically, you can swap out the same talent for Verdancy, giving you additional healing from Efflorescence on multiple targets once your Lifebloom blooms.
On the other hand, we have some flexible picks as our Wildstalker Hero build, to which we suggest removing Renewing Surge for Master Shapeshifter, greatly assisting you with your mana regeneration if you are using your finishers with max combo points, mainly with Maim to initiate a lengthy Crowd Control stun. We also exchange Germination and Forest’s Flow for Budding Leaves, which grants you more Lifebloom healing, as well as Call of the Elder Druid. This talent in particular allows you to activate Heart of the Wild more frequently even if you don’t select it in our Class tree.
Restoration Druid PvP Talents
In the current meta, your default Restoration PvP talent loadout will typically include Focused Growth, Preserve Nature, and High Winds.
- Focused Growth increases the healing done, while also reducing the mana cost of one of your primary healing spells, Lifebloom.
- Preserve Nature empowers your Tranquility, reacting similar to Paladin’s Divine Shield, granting you a temporary immunity to any incoming damaging spell or Crowd Control as long as Tranquility is channeled. This makes Tranquility immune to being interrupted as well.
- High Winds has been drastically changed from how it used to be in Dragonflight, as it now increases the range of Cyclone instead of reducing the affected target’s healing and damage dealt. In combination with Astral Influence, it will be way less risky to land Cyclone.
For your last PvP talent slot, High Winds will be swapped around with additional PvP talents depending on your matchup and current composition played.
- Tireless Pursuit if you want more mobility, as this requires you to shift out of Travel Form or Cat Form in order to gain its movement speed increase.
- Disentanglement is typically selected when choosing Verdancy on the Restoration talent tree, and serves more of a purpose when playing with melee cleaves to increase their uptime on targets or against Frost Mages to reduce their snare effects.
- Early Spring doesn’t provide much value in arena, but is a very good option if you want additional Wild Growth healing for both Battleground Blitz and Rated BGs.
- Thorns is best picked against double melee comps in 3v3, or in 2v2 when facing up against melee and healer mirrors. This can help reduce the sense of danger by deterring enemy players from attacking you or an ally.
