Marksmanship Hunter Stat Priority
Agility > 5% Hit Rating > Spell Penetration (195) > Resilience (3000-3500) > Critical Strike > Mastery > Haste
Prioritize as much Agility as you can. The more Agility you have, the more Ranged Attack Power and Critical Strike you will have on your abilities, making your spells more powerful. After focusing on Agility, make sure to have at least 5% Hit Cap first before focusing on your secondary stats. This makes sure that none of your abilities miss while attacking your opponent. Then, focus on receiving 195 Spell Penetration so none of your spells end up resisting. This is important due to classes like Shadow Priests that have Shadow Protection.
Followed by Hit Rating and Spell Penetration, focus on increasing your Resilience amount up to at least 3000. This will grant you some additional tankiness against players in PvP combat. If you can, try to increase this amount up to 3500, as this can be valuable for your survivability.
Now, let’s focus on our secondary stat priority. Make sure to use Critical Strike for most of your gear, as this will provide more focus regeneration for you and your pet due to the spell, Go For the Throat, and will grant you overall higher DPS with Piercing Shots. Piercing Shots is valuable as this will apply a bleed onto your target when affected by a critical Aimed Shot, Chimera Shot, or Steady Shot. Mastery and Haste aren’t as valuable to choose as a secondary as opposed to Critical Strike due to the lack of talents that synergize with these stats.
In case you aren’t able to reach your stat caps, use reforging on any gear with Mastery or Haste, and convert to Hit. If you already have enough Hit Rating, make sure to reforge your gear from Mastery or Haste to Critical Strike.
