Best Shadow Priest PvP Glyphs

The glyph system has changed quite a bit in Cataclysm as opposed to Wrath of the Lich King. All glyph scrolls that have been learned are now permanent glyphs that can be placed inside major and minor glyph slots, and there are 3 additional prime glyph slots included with the major and minor glyphs. Vanishing powder will be needed to swap out those glyphs. Those will be handy, since some glyphs may be swapped depending on a certain arena matchup.

Prime Glyphs

These three prime glyphs provided below are your primary glyphs within your prime glyph slots. If you plan on not being a kill target in the composition that you are playing, although this will be extremely rare due to Shadow Priests being a vulnerable kill target in all Shadow Priest compositions, you can choose Glyph of Power Word Shield instead of Glyph of Dispersion.

Glyph of Shadow Word: Death resets your cooldown of Shadow Word: Death when this ability is used on a target that is at 25% HP or lower. This is an extremely important glyph that helps guarantee kills on your opponents with increased burst on kill windows.

Glyph of Shadow Word: Pain is a passive increase to your primary DoT, Shadow Word: Pain. This passive will help provide you additional sustain damage against your opponents.

Glyph of Dispersion reduces the cooldown of Dispersion by 45 seconds. Due to Dispersion granting you a very high damage reduction and can be used as a mana generator, this is an essential glyph to restore your major defensive faster.

Glyph of Power Word Shield provides extra healing to the target affected by your Power Word: Shield. Although this provides extra survivability on your teammates, it is more preferrable to use Glyph of Dispersion due to Shadow Priests being primary kill targets in PvP combat.

Major Glyphs

These three major glyphs provided below are your primary glyphs within your major glyph slots. These glyphs almost never change.

Glyph of Inner Fire increases the amount of armor given from Inner Fire, helping with Priest survivalibility. Also, having Inner Fire on yourself is important since it grants you additional Spell Power.

Glyph of Psychic Horror reduces the cooldown of your Psychic Horror and it vital to include as a Major Glyph due to its long cooldown of 2 minutes. Having this ability a shorter cooldown grants you higher survivalibility with increased disarms on your opponents as well as increased kill windows throughout an arena match.

Glyph of Mass Dispel reduces cast time of your Mass Dispel by 1 second, making your Mass Dispels extremely fast to press. Remember that this spell requires a lot of mana to use, so using this excessively can be detrimental to your sustainability during an arena game.

A new expansion offers new possibilities to learn different information that has been added, changed, or removed in the game. Our Skill Capped Guide will provide you with that information at ease through our specialized premium courses. Consult with the best PvP players with years of PvP competitive experience. Minor Glyphs

Even though minor glyphs do not greatly enhance the performance for Shadow Priest, there are 3 minor glyphs provided below that can be used in your minor glyph slots to minmax. These glyphs don’t change.

Glyph of Fortitude reduces the amount of mana spent on Power Word: Fortitude, which can be beneficial when facing Restoration Shamans and other Priests that prioritize purging buffs off of yourself or your teammates.

Glyph of Levitate removes the reagant requirement from Levitate. You will be using Levitate when Death Knights cast Dark Simulacrum on your character, making them steal this spell as opposed to any beneficial spell you could have provided.

Glyph of Shadowfiend grants you 5% base mana if your Shadowfiend dies early during its use. Since Shadowfiend is typically squishy by itself, this provides minor boost for mana sustainability.
